2005 - The Belmont House Right in the heart of Allen’s historical district, The Belmont House boasts some of the best cuisine in Allen and the surrounding areas. It’s a wonderful place to enjoy a romantic meal or to just hang out with friends on the big deck around back. Starting to play early, while patrons were still enjoying the fine dining, gave us an opportunity to do some “BC unplugged” and show our softer side. Later we turned up the volume till the whole place was rockin” and played into the wee hours. |

2005 Harley Davidson of Garland It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood at the Harley shop in Garland. It started out a little cool but the sun warmed up and so did the crowd. There were lots of game booths set up and they even had a hand writing analyst on hand. The entire staff was dressed in costumes and Al and Bob got into the act, too. Al was dressed as a hippie boy and Bob as the infamous Slash. Check ‘em out on the pics page. It turned out to be a really cool gig. |

Flying Pig This was the first time playing this fine club in the heart historic and beautiful downtown Lewisville. The place has a hometown feel and friendliness that makes you want to come back and bring more folks with you. Code Warrior Scott’s birthday party showed up with a couple tables full of crazies. The place has a large dance floor for all the dancin’ fools that were shakin’ it. Thanks to the great staff for making us feel welcome and for inviting us back next month. Hope to see ya there. |

It was Babes, Bikes and Beer at Stroker’s down on the Hinds. It’s always a fun place and this time was no exception. Bob won a bet he had going as to whether or not Bikers dance. Turns out they do! And sometimes in great numbers! Thanks to the Gypsy MC and their huge caravan of craziness. They rode in on waves of mechanized thunder that just rattled the place. Too cool! |

It was a hot gig Saturday at the Harley shop and I’m not just talking about the weather. Sure, the thermometer was showing 100+ degrees but the real heat was from the Boo Koo Energy Drink girl and the ever popular Bone Babes from 93.3, The Bone. They were all lookin’ good and they even did some stage dancing with the band. Between the water slide, Bar-B-Q and the water balloon contests, kids of all ages had a great time. |

(Dallas) Saturday night in the heart of Plano and Broken Code was taking no prisoners. Rack Daddy’s is a great place for a little pool playing in a nice environment. They have lots of first rate pool tables and there were some ladies that really knew how to us ‘em. The Code Warriors were out in force and seemed to be having a great time. |

BC started playing at 9:00 and didn't stop until the lights came on about 1:45 under threat of Police retaliation. It was our first gig out with the New and Improved Broken Code lineup that includes veteran git-picker Bob Perry spankin' his plank. There was a large group of DDT folks in attendance, breakin' the Code and keeping things rowdy. As always, lots of good food and drink was served with smiles by the ever friendly staff making it another memorable night out in Code Land. |

Special thanks to the line dancing ladies for kickin’ up the dust during the third set. The Bingham House This year Broken Code got to welcome in the New Year at the Bingham House Bed and Breakfast in McKinney with the always rockin' Voodoo Blue. The beautiful B&B has a large activity hall suitable for weddings and other gatherings. The facility was first class all the way and the food was just amazing. The owners have done an incredible job restoring this historic home. Drummer boy Chad was feeling under the weather but no one could tell from his playing. Before the night was through Rod got a chance to set in on a few tunes with Voodoo Blue to add his wicked (and sometimes twisted) slide playing. |

First time we’ve played this fine establishment that’s nestled in the heart of Plano. It’s a fun place with plenty of pool tables, dart boards and TV screens with the games on. The place was packed with a good crowd and lots of Code Warriors were on hand. Also, many of the DDT troop showed up and got real nice and rowdy (you know who you are) making it a night to remember. TX) It was a beautiful moon lit night at Hank’s in McKinney. The place was jumpin’ from first note to last with packed house of fun folks including lots of dancers. Good food and great staff made for an enjoyable evening all round. Plenty of Code Warriors showed up, some with family in tow. There was even a special appearance by the McKinney Cardinals Football Team! Hank’s has a nice stage with a great sound system, first class all the way. Thanks, everyone, for the shots and all the tips, it made us feel really special. |

January 31st 2004 (Sat.) Thunderhorse Saloon The Thunderhorse Saloon in Lewisville is a true Biker Bar. Own and run by Bikers for Bikers. It’s primary mission is to serve the 2-wheeled crowd but just about anyone would enjoy visiting this memorable road house. We started early with our first set and played as long as we could without infringing on Voodoo Blue’s sets. The massive crowd of bikers seem to be having a great time, I know we were. Even the girl on crutches was dancing. It was a blast playing on the huge stage for so many folks. |

Pete's (Lewisville) It was a slow Thursday night in the beautiful and intimate surroundings of Sneaky Pete’s on Lake Lewisville. The Stryker Production event had Voodoo Blue starting the night with some great, solid Texas blues. By 10:00 when we took over, the small crowd had dwindled to a hand full of diehard, weeknight party folks. Playing for the diminutive but vocal gathering was fun. It was up close and personal and gave us a chance to try out some new tunes on the unsuspecting group. |

Shack The New Years Eve party at Joe’s Crab Shack in Plano turned out to be wonderful. Absolutely beautiful weather on the porch set the stage for great night of celebration. A lot of folks: family, friends, co-workers, strangers and the just plain strange were all there to bring in the New Year. This marks the one year anniversary of Broken Codes first official gig. We would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone that has supported us this past year. |

Texas Stardom...(Frisco, TX) Saturday night’s gig at Texas Stardom in Frisco was a ball. It was The Dickweed Annual Poker Run benefiting The American Diabetes Association. The Miller Lite Girls were there to donate their talents and in this reporter’s opinion, did a fine job. "Looked Great… Less Filling" The music started with Kim Younkin. By the time Broken Code was up, it was gittin’ colder, we talked the friendly management team into letting us play inside. Lots of dancing, singing along and just good old partying was going on and made us feel right at home. |

October 4th 2003 Harley Davidson of Dallas (Allen, TX) Saturday Broken Code had a gorgeous morning to set up in the parking lot at the Harley shop in Allen. The skies were clear and we even had a little breeze. Linda was there dispensing food, drink, and smiles. As usual, owner, Bob Johnson made us feel welcome. With the nice weather, lots of folks hung around after shopping to groove on the tunes we were cranking out and to check out what everyone else was riding. And there were some beauties! Yep, it turned out to be a pretty good gig. |

Competition from Germanfest, the Plano Balloon Fest, and the “Something,something” Fest all took their toll on attendance. That’s OK, it just leaves more for us. Those who did make it out seemed to have a great time, I know we did. We made some new friends, too. In Broken Code tradition, we played ‘till they kicked us out. Hope we can hook up with everyone next time. |

Crab Shack (Plano, TX) It was a little toasty Saturday until the sun set and the breeze started blowing, but we came ready to rock. The heat faded to a starry night, filled with friends, food, and incredible looking bikes, ya gotta luv summer in Texas! Biggest group yet for this unique event. Biker just kept on coming in on their custom painted, chromium clad steeds. Besides all the beautiful bikes, a couple of gorgeous street rods showed up. We got to see a top notch Harley burnout (and a pretty amazing pair of leather hot pants, too). 2-COOL! |

Gators (Allen, TX) We finally got hooked up with the fine folks at Later Gators in Allen and had an absolute blast. Gators had given the band a generous drink voucher that the band in turn made available to those who had gotten the secret code word from our email. Jeff Smithart came up and sang a rockin’ version of Elvis’ “Little Sister” and the ladies went wild! U-ROCK-DUDE. Thanks to everyone for coming out to support us. And thanks again to the management and staff at Gators for such a great night and letting us party with them into the wee hours. |

(Richardson, TX) Saturday night at Nedley's Sports Bar in Richardson was ROCKIN’. Broken Code took the stage and it looked like storms would ruin the show. The wind turned to breeze and the moon even made an appearance. It turned into a beautiful evening. The stage Nedley’s has installed was excellent. Lighting was done by the Next Jam Rehearsal Studio staff and looked great. Ned himself even came up on stage to sing “I Want To Hold Your Hand” to rave reviews. All in all it was all good. Crab Shack (Plano, TX) The Panther Creek HOG Motorcycle Club was in attendance for Joe's Bike Night. The back parking lot was fenced off for all the bikes and we got to jam right in amongst ‘em. The weather was great, the mood jovial. Yep, catching rays with motorized eye candy, as far as the eye could see. Thanks go out to Chris Ewing, owner of Next Jam Studios, for hooking us up with the JBLs for the evening, they sounded great. We were a little unsure about how a “porch gig” on such a chilly night was going to turn out but the plastic walls kept everything cool. Later Gators (Allen, TX) Well’ Later Gators was a gas… a gas LEAK! We want to apologize to all those who turned out for the gig Saturday night only to find a “Sorry, we’re closed due to a gas leak” note on the door. Alan immediately went into action trying to get us a gig next door at the Karaoke place but the owner felt his regular crooners might have been disappointed. But he did offer to let us sing as long as we didn’t play our instruments and didn’t want to get paid. A big Texas size “thanks” to Cheryl and Alan for opening their home to the band that night and let us play away our frustration. |

(Coppell, TX) The Lone Star Country Club gig was a hoot. We’d like to thank everyone for coming out to support us. We’d like to thank Mat Barr for sittin’ in with his sexy sax stylings. Also, all the dancers and our impromptu back-up singer were really appreciated. “The Codetts”, simply by showing up and lending your talents to the chorus of Mustang Sally. The “Rustic Road House” décor was really convincing, like we had just come in off of Rout 66 in our BelAir. It looked as though James Dean could have walked through the door any minute. |
